Virginia designer Nailya Plaskey, Nailya on Ravelry, has again designed brand new shawls in both crochet and knit. These two shawls are full of texture like the James River itself! The patterns are: Six Shops Shawl (crochet) and Yarn Shop Shawl (knit). It was important to all involved that we continue to be inclusive, so crochet and knit versions are available.
A Knit-Along or a Crochet-Along, is a group of people all working on the same project for inspiration and group camaraderie. All yarn shops will provide pattern assistance for anyone who needs help with technical aspects of the pattern – so it’s like taking a class for FREE! We hope you can join!
The asymmetrical shawl requires two skeins of fingering weight yarn for knit and three for crochet.
The pattern is $6 and will be available for download on Ravelry beginning Friday, June 11.
There is one grand prize for those who complete the shawl by the end of the Crawl, Sept. 25 – one gift card from each of the six participating yarn shops for $25 each.
1) All yarn must be purchased from one of the six yarn shops participating (see below).
2) All completed shawls must be posted to Instagram and Facebook using the hashtag #jryccrawlshawl.
3) You also must tag the shop where you purchased the yarn (see below for shop tags).
All conditions must be completed to qualify for the prize.
The shawl hashtags are: #jryccrawlshawl2021 #yarnshopshawl #sixshopscrawl #nailyaplaskeydesigns

For those who do not have Instagram or Facebook accounts, ask your Local Yarn Shop to take a picture of your completed shawl and post for you, which also will qualify you for the prize. Look for the prize winner announcement after Sept. 25, the final day of the Crawl.
